Where the booth fits into your wedding day

Most couples place the booth in the evening reception, switching it on once the room has been turned around after the wedding breakfast. Guests have eaten, the speeches are done and people are ready to let go a little, which is exactly when a booth gets its best use. Evening guests arrive to something lively rather than a half-empty dance floor, and your day guests have a reason to stay on their feet between the meal and the first dance.

The other point where a booth earns its keep is the gap between the ceremony and the evening. If your photographer is taking you away for couple portraits and the drinks reception is running long, a booth gives everyone else a focus. We can run it through that idle stretch, pause while dinner is served, and start again for the evening if that suits the shape of your day better than a single block.

How long to hire a wedding photo booth

Three to four hours is the typical wedding hire, and it covers the window that matters. If evening guests are invited for 7.30pm, a booth running from 7.30pm until 11pm takes in the arrivals, the first dance and the busiest stretch of the dance floor. Going later than that rarely adds much, because by the final hour most guests have already been through two or three times.

Setup and pack-down sit outside your hire time, so you are not paying for the time we spend building the booth. We arrive before your evening guests do and clear away quietly at the end of the night. If your timings are unusual, a Sunday afternoon wedding for example, send us the running order and we will suggest a start and finish that fits.

A guest book people actually fill in

Every print booth we hire comes with a guest book, and at a wedding it quietly replaces the traditional one. Our attendant sticks a copy of each print into the book and hands guests a pen, so you end the night with a page for every group that visited, complete with the messages they wrote beside their photo. It is far easier to get a few words from someone holding a strip of photos of themselves than from someone walking past a blank book at the entrance.

Prints that match your stationery

Send us your invitation or order of service and we will design the print template around it. Fonts, colours, a floral motif, your names and the date can all be carried over, so the prints look like part of the same suite rather than something bolted on. You will see a proof before the day and can ask for changes until it is right.

Templates are included in every package, whether you want a classic photo strip from the Retro Pod or a postcard-style print from the Magic Mirror. If your stationery designer has produced a monogram, send the file and we will place it on the print and on the digital copies your guests receive by email.

Working with your venue coordinator

Once you have booked, we are glad to speak directly with your venue coordinator about access, timings and where the booth will stand. Most reception rooms have a spot that works: near the bar, beside the entrance to the dance floor, or in a side room guests pass through. What we need is a level floor, one standard plug socket and the floor space for the booth you have chosen, which is as little as 1.5m by 2m for the LCD SlimPod.

If the venue is turning the room around between the wedding breakfast and the evening, we work around the staff rather than in their way. Let us know when the room will be ready and we will arrive to build in that window. For marquees and barns we ask about power and ground conditions in advance so there are no surprises on the day.

Booths couples choose most often

The Magic Mirror is the wedding favourite: a full-length mirror that talks guests through the session with animations and games, takes up to eight people in a shot and prints for everyone in the group. Couples who want a slimmer footprint for a smaller reception room usually go for the LCD SlimPod, which needs just 1.5m by 2m and still gives two prints per session plus digital copies.

  • Magic Mirror: full-length interactive mirror, up to 8 per shot, prints for everyone
  • LCD SlimPod: slim open-air pod, our most affordable and most popular option
  • Retro Pod: classic photo-strip prints with an inbuilt printer and tidy cables
  • Selfie Mirror Pod: half-mirror screen, DSLR camera, instant prints for each guest
  • Inflatable Booth: LED-lit showpiece with the glow matched to your colour scheme

What is included and how to book

Every wedding booking includes a professional attendant for the whole hire, free delivery, setup and pack-down, unlimited sessions, a box of props, LED lighting, the guest book, your custom print template, digital copies with email and social sharing, and full public liability insurance. A green screen is available on request if you would like to drop your guests into a different backdrop.

Packages start from £299. An £80 deposit secures your date and the balance is due one month before the wedding, so there is nothing to think about in the final weeks. Send an enquiry with your date and venue and we reply within 24 hours. We are a mobile service covering London, the South East, the East of England, the Home Counties and the Midlands, so most venues across that region are within reach.

Weddings Photo Booth FAQs

When is the best time to have the photo booth running at a wedding?

The evening reception, starting as your evening guests arrive and running through the first dance. Three to four hours from around 7.30pm covers the busiest part of the night. If you have a long gap between the ceremony and the evening, we can run the booth during that stretch instead, or split the hire around the meal.

Can the prints match our wedding colours and stationery?

Yes. Send us your invitation, colour palette or a monogram from your stationery designer and we will build the print template around it. You will receive a proof to approve before the day, and the same design appears on the digital copies your guests receive by email.

Does the photo booth come with a guest book?

Every print booth includes a guest book. Our attendant places a copy of each print in the book and invites guests to write a message beside it, so you end the night with photos and notes from every group that visited. Most couples use it instead of a traditional guest book.

How much space does the booth need in our reception room?

It depends on the booth. The LCD SlimPod and Retro Pod fit in around 1.5m by 2m, the Magic Mirror and Selfie Mirror Pod need about 2m by 2m, and the Inflatable Booth needs 4m by 4m with 3m of clear height. All need a level floor and one standard socket, two for the Inflatable.

Will you talk to our venue directly?

Gladly. Once you have booked, we can contact your venue coordinator to agree access, setup timing and where the booth will stand, so you are not relaying messages. We arrive while the room is being turned around for the evening and are ready before your evening guests walk in.
