Getting a booth into Cambridgeshire venues

Cambridge presents the most involved access of any venue in the county: restricted city-centre streets, narrow college lanes and porters' lodges with set delivery windows. We deal with this by confirming the entrance and the timing with the college or venue in advance, unloading in the agreed spot and moving the vehicle to a park and ride or permitted car park. The Cambridge page covers these arrangements in more detail.

Elsewhere, Fenland village halls and converted barns around Ely and Huntingdon are generally easier, though the lanes can be narrow and some halls have a step or two at the entrance. Setup takes about 45 to 60 minutes before the hire window and is not counted as hire time. Each booth runs from one standard socket, apart from the Inflatable Booth which uses two, and a marquee needs a reliable 13A supply from the mains or a properly sized generator.

Where in Cambridgeshire we work

Cambridge has its own dedicated page. Across the rest of the county we cover Peterborough in the north, Ely and Soham to the east, Huntingdon, St Ives and St Neots along the A14 and A1 corridor, and Wisbech, March and Chatteris in the Fens. Villages between these towns are included; no venue is too remote provided there is a road to it and a socket inside.

The M11 brings us up from the south into Cambridge, the A14 crosses the county between Huntingdon and Cambridge, the A1(M) serves Peterborough and St Neots, and the A10 connects Cambridge with Ely and the Fenland towns. Delivery and setup are included in every package wherever the venue is.

Booths suited to Cambridgeshire bookings

The LCD SlimPod is the booth we send to Cambridgeshire most often. At 36 centimetres wide it fits through a college doorway or into a corner of a village hall, and its prints, GIFs and background removal cover most needs from £299. The Retro Pod, with its inbuilt printer and tidy cabling, is a favourite for barn weddings around Ely and Huntingdon where the classic strip prints match a rustic style.

For May Balls, student events and proms, the enclosed Party Booth gives groups of up to eight a curtained space to be silly in, with two prints a session. Science park and biomedical campus companies in and around Cambridge choose the GIF Booth for digital-only sharing with a branded overlay at launches and summer parties.

  • LCD SlimPod: slimmest print booth, fits college and hall doorways
  • Retro Pod: inbuilt printer, classic strips for barn weddings
  • Party Booth: enclosed fun for balls, proms and birthdays
  • GIF Booth: digital-only for science park events

College halls, Fenland barns and Peterborough hotels

Cambridge's college and university venues provide dining halls, panelled rooms and gardens for balls, graduation celebrations and weddings, each with its own access rules. Peterborough has conference hotels and city venues suited to corporate dinners and awards nights. Around Ely and Huntingdon there are converted barns and farm venues, often with a marquee for larger receptions.

The Fens are served by village halls and community centres, which host birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas parties. Riverside venues along the Cam and the Great Ouse at St Ives and St Neots offer another option for summer events. Golf clubs and school halls complete the range.

Weddings, balls and corporate events, with planning tips

Cambridgeshire weddings split between college settings in the city and barns in the countryside. For college weddings we recommend confirming the booth's position with the porters' lodge early, since some rooms have listed floors or limited sockets. Barn weddings usually place the booth near the bar, opening after the speeches. Guest books are provided with every print booth.

May Balls and student society events often run late into the night, and our hire windows can be timed accordingly. Corporate bookings at science and business parks ask for logo-branded prints and a digital gallery delivered afterwards. Proms for schools in Peterborough, Huntingdon, Ely and Cambridge and milestone birthdays in Fenland village halls make up the rest, and the attendant looks after the queue throughout.

Good to know

Photo Booth Hire in Cambridgeshire: Local FAQs

How do you handle parking and unloading at a Cambridge college?

We agree the entrance, the delivery slot and the unloading point with the porters' lodge or events team in advance, unload quickly and then move the vehicle to a park and ride or an approved car park. Any permit or access code the college issues should be passed to us before the day.

Can you set up in a Fenland village hall with steps at the door?

Yes. A few steps are no problem for the slimmer booths, and we bring the equipment in on trolleys where the surface allows. Tell us about any steps, narrow doors or a first-floor room when booking so we can allow extra setup time and pick the right booth.

Is there a travel fee for Wisbech, March or Peterborough?

Delivery and setup are included in every package, and the Fenland towns and Peterborough are part of our regular Cambridgeshire coverage. If any travel contribution ever applies to a far-flung venue it is shown on the quote up front, so the total is clear before you pay the deposit.

Can you set up in a marquee for a barn wedding near Ely?

Yes. Marquees need a firm, level floor, cover from the weather and a reliable 13A socket within a few metres of the booth. If the power comes from a generator, ask the marquee company to confirm it is sized for the booth, the lighting and the catering together.

Can the booth run late for a May Ball or student event?

Hire windows are flexible, and late finishes are common for balls and society events. Let us know the planned running order and we will set the booth to open and close at the times that suit. The attendant stays with the booth for the entire hire period.
