What makes the Selfie Mirror Pod different

Rather than hiding the camera behind a plain screen, the Selfie Mirror Pod puts a half-mirror panel on a slim upright pod around 1.7 metres tall. Guests see their own reflection as they line up, which means fewer wasted shots and far better posing. Behind the glass sit a DSLR camera and a touch interface, so the same panel shows the countdown, the live gallery and the sharing options once the photos are taken.

Using it is straightforward. A guest taps the mirror to wake it, picks a still, a GIF or a filtered shot, and strikes a pose while the countdown ticks. The pod fires the DSLR with the LED lights, shows the result on the mirror for approval, and sends the image to the printer. Our attendant stays beside the pod to reset props, tidy the queue and help anyone who wants a second attempt.

Room to set up and the best spot in the venue

Allow a clear floor area of 2 metres by 2 metres for the pod, the lighting and the group in front of it. The pod itself is slim and tall, standing around 1.7 metres, so a normal ceiling is plenty; we will confirm the exact width and depth of the unit when we quote so the venue can plan around it. A single standard plug socket powers everything, and we bring our own extension lead.

Mirror pods look best with a dedicated backdrop behind the guests and the pod facing away from direct sunlight, because the mirrored surface shows reflections when idle. A corner of the function room near the dance floor is ideal, far enough from the band that guests can hear the attendant but close enough that nobody has to leave the party to find it. Stairs are not an issue; the pod separates into carry cases.

Eight in a frame and a steady queue

The DSLR has a wider field of view than a tablet camera, so up to eight guests can fit into a single frame, which is handy for bridal parties and work teams. Reckon on roughly a minute per session, plus a few seconds for prints to appear and for the next group to grab props. That works out at around forty sessions in a busy hour, and since every person in the group gets a print there is no squabbling over who keeps the copy.

For large guest lists we suggest opening the pod straight after the meal, when people are relaxed and moving about, and keeping it running through the first hour of dancing. Unlimited sessions mean the only limit is the clock, and our attendant will nudge the quieter tables to have a go.

A print in every hand, plus the digital set

Instant prints for each guest is the headline feature of this pod. If six friends pose together, six prints come out, each on your chosen template with your names or logo. Prints appear within seconds and the attendant keeps the printer stocked throughout the hire.

On the digital side, every photo is saved and handed over on a USB stick at the end of the night. Guests can also email images to themselves or share them directly to social media from the mirror, and GIFs and filtered shots travel the same way. The guest book collects a print from each group alongside a handwritten message.

Templates, logos and theming

Each booking includes a bespoke print template, which we design from your colours, fonts or brand assets and send over for approval before the event. The welcome screen on the mirror and the on-screen prompts can carry the same artwork. For corporate bookings a logo on every print and on the sharing email turns each photo into a small piece of marketing.
