Why choose an enclosed booth

Open-air pods suit a lot of events, but there is a reason the curtained booth has never gone away. The curtain gives guests a few seconds of privacy to be silly, which produces the photos people actually frame. It also keeps the camera, lighting and screen in a fixed position, so every shot is consistently lit no matter where the booth stands in the room.

Inside the Party Booth: how a session runs

Guests pull the curtain, step inside and tap the screen. A countdown runs, the camera fires a sequence of shots, and guests can add filters or shoot a GIF instead of stills. Stick props hang ready by the entrance. When the sequence finishes, two prints drop from the slot and the attendant pops one in the guest book, hands over the other and waves the next group through.

Because the attendant stands outside the curtain, the queue is managed without anyone having to shout over the music, and prop swaps happen between groups rather than mid-session. Guests who are unsure what to do get a quick demonstration, and the attendant checks the prints as they appear so a blinked shot can be retaken straight away.

Floor space, ceiling height and power

The booth stands approximately 2.2 metres high with a footprint of 1.5 by 1.5 metres. Allow a clear floor area of 2.5m by 2.5m to include the curtain opening and space for people waiting, and check that the ceiling is at least 2.4 metres. A single standard socket powers the booth, printer and lighting.

Enclosed booths want a flat floor and a location where the entrance faces into the room rather than a wall. Against the long wall of a function room, beside the bar, or in a side room off the main hall are all common choices. The booth packs down into sections for transport, so it can usually be taken upstairs; tell us if there is no lift and we will check the route.

Guest capacity and how fast the queue moves

Up to eight people can get inside at once, although six is the comfortable number if everyone wants their whole face in the frame. Sessions take around a minute, so forty or so groups an hour is a realistic pace. Because two prints come out of each session rather than one per guest, the printer keeps up easily and the queue rarely stalls. Unlimited sessions during the hire mean the regulars will come back several times.

Two prints, a guest book and email sharing

Each session delivers two prints: one for the guest to keep and one for the guest book, where the attendant encourages a message alongside the photo. Prints carry your custom template with names, date or logo. Every image and GIF is saved digitally and can be emailed from the booth, so guests who prefer a phone copy are covered too, and you receive the full digital set after the event.

The template is designed to your brief, from wedding stationery colours to a corporate logo lock-up. The welcome screen inside the booth can show the same artwork. For company events a logo on every print and on the sharing email keeps the brand in view long after the party ends.
